My name is___________, and I am a Sinner.

Hi, my name is Bobby and I am a sinner. This is a loaded statement! This statement tells someone so much about who you are. It tells people that you are not perfect, that you fail from time to time, that you need to have help or that you mess up... but it also tells everyone else that you are a humble person, that you are willing to ask God for help and it tells people that you believe in Jesus Christ! This is the time where most people will judge you on your beliefs, but that is a totally different blog than what I feel inspired to write about today. So back to the topic.

We are sinners. We fail, we suck at loving each other and Jesus Christ from time to time. We are totally manipulated by the Devil on a daily basis, and sometimes we actually enjoy doing it. This sounds really disgusting or almost like we are suffering from a disease or something. Well, in a way, sin is a disease. It is something that we know is wrong, we don't want to have it, but once we have it (From Conception, since we are created with original sin), it is a life long battle to get healthy from it. This is where believing and trusting in God comes into play! Let's take a look at a verse in scripture from our Gospel today!

"Those who are healthy do not need a physician, but the sick do. I have not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners." - Luke 5:32

God sent Jesus, not to help those people who think they are healthy or those who do not need to be healed. He sent Jesus to make it possible for us who are sick with our everyday temptations, to finally have a doctor to get healthy. We do not go to Mass to simply sit there and fall asleep or to simply go because we have to. NO! WE GO BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE WE GET THE CURE TO OUR SINFULNESS(JESUS)! We go to CONFESSION so that we can be cured of our sinfulness! We pray daily so that we can hear from the greatest Physician in the universe to hear about how we can be cured for the day from our temptations!

Jesus was sent to sit with tax collectors, to help out the prostitutes, to be a friend to the lepers. Jesus came to be friends with us, the broken people of faith! There is no one in our church that is perfectly holy. We are all sinners and we suck at loving God and each other from time to time. So my advice today is to look into the mirror (PRAYER) ask God what is wrong with you, and do exactly what he tells you. It could be a simple as going to Adoration, praying a little bit longer today, maybe it is time to get to confession for the first time in forever, or maybe it is a plea from God to have you attend Mass regularly. So today, admit to yourself that you are like me and everyone else on this planet... We are sons/daughters of God and we are sinners, but remember that God's love will never fail because of this!
